Addition and Subtraction

Why is important to our kids learn addition and subtraction?

To learn the basic math fact helps the child to progress in problem-solving, alegra and higher-order math concept. The numbers can play an important role here, because to learn how to add and sub, you need to know at least 5 numbers to realize it.

Activities

#1: Addition bears.

Materials: bears counters / numbers and sign of addition.

Procedure: the child will make the addition counting the bears.

#2: Substraction sticks.

Materials: Sticks with subtractions.

Procedure: the child will make the subtraction in the sticks.

#3: Hula Hula’s Math.

Materials: hula hula’s / balls / sign of addition and subtraction.

Procedure: The child will be able to resolve the problem counting the balls in the hula hula’s.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

#4: Lego’s Math.

Materials: Legos / flash card with three squares / marker.

Procedure: the child will make the operation, counting the Legos and writing the result.

#5: ECO – MATERIAL Carton addition.

Materials: empty egg carton / 2 counters / white paper / pencils.

Procedure: the child will throw the counters in the egg carton and make a problem to addition or subtraction.
